Hi Uko, 

I just read your interview in The Montreal Review and – perhaps not surprisingly – I discovered that we have many things in common. For example:

• I too am very influenced by Ecclesiastes, particularly the line about vanity, which I often quote, either in English or Hebrew

• I too am an admirer of Yuval Harari

• I share your skepticism, even cynicism, about the woke movement and its implications for art and artists and freedom of expression; and

• I have said in interviews almost exactly what you did, about not waiting for inspiration when creating one's art; you have to just start working and work every day in a self-disciplined way.

Anyway, I'm really happy that you did that interview.
